Here is a picture of Lotus Corps members Jeff Nack and Robbi Drell that I
borrowed from my own panoramic LOG 9 picture. This was my first almost
meeting with Lotus Corps members in State College, PA. One year later, I
was to meet up with many more Lotus Corps people in Akron, Ohio. |
In June of 1993, an event was held for the first time at Blackhawk Farms
racetrack, called, The Blackhawk Classic and Lotus Corps were there. This
event combined vintage racing cars, and vintage aircraft. There was a lot
of variety there to enjoy, with the vintage cars racing on the track, including
special guest Stirling Moss (who, I found to be more than a bit grouchy) and the
aircraft flying, landing, and offering rides. If you would give them a
ride whilst touring, they would be more than happy to give you a little ride in
their plane. There was even some wing walking going on. Here you see
early arrivals, Malcolm P, Rocky P, former Lotus Corps President and
member George H, my car (I took the picture), Jim C, and Mark P. Incidentally, Carl Grabowski is now the owner of Mark's M100
Elan pictured here. |
In 1998, Lotus was the featured marque at the Champagne British Auto fest in
Champaign, Illinois in honor of Lotuses 50th anniversary. Here you see
Rocky P's Esprit SE at that show. |
Rocky found a new 'additive' to help boost the performance of his car.....
word has it that Purina Dog Chow Racing is interested in an endorsement deal
with Rocky. :^) Actually, this is just one of the things that can
happen when mice visit your garage. |
The tune-up clinic is a yearly favorite with Lotus Corps
members. The event is hosted by LaFox Automotive in South Elgin,
Illinois, early each year. Members can bring their cars in for a
''look over''. A good way to check your car out as the driving
season begins. Quite a lot of knowledge is on hand from the various
club members who come to this event. A very young Bob Herzog is
shown here doing some checking on his 1963 Elan, which is in superb
condition. |
Another picture from a Tune-up Clinic, many years later
with Bob Herzog 'supervising' Paul Quiniff. |
There has been a yearly event known as The Midwest Lotus Round-Up. The first
year, 1995, Barb & Ken Olendzki were the planners. They planned,
and executed a great, fun weekend at Devils Head Lodge, in Wisconsin. Just
one of the fun activities was a spirited drive in the Wisconsin
country-side. This picture was taken just after we had been ferried across
a river (or lake). We all got aboard without scrapping any of our low
riding Loti. The drive was fun, and as we drove through the actual
Devil's Head Lake area, we came upon a big group of Boy Scouts who sure liked
the sight, and sound of us all driving by. |

Two of our members, who now live in the Atlanta, Georgia
area, recently attended The Lotus Fall Festival at Road Atlanta. Lotus
'Lister', Phil Harbison took some pictures, and posted them. Here we will
see a picture of Frank Filicicchia's 1966 Elan S2 SE, Greg Zelazek's 1966
Cortina Mark I, and a group picture of: (L to R) Greg Zelazek, Catherine Lefever,
Tom Ahearn, Frank Filicicchia.
