March 29 (Saturday) - Lotus Corps Spring Enduro - Hello Go Karters!! That time of year is near. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday March 29th at CIR (Chicago Indoor Racing) at 5PM.

Due to overwhelming demand, last year we added an additional driver to each team and expanded the event to 1 hour fifteen minutes. That would entail 10 teams of 5 drivers per team. Every 7-8 minutes there will be a scheduled pit-stop and driver change.

Teams are formed on a first-come-first-serve basis. Positions on the teams are held and LOCKED IN with the receipt of your registration fee. Otherwise I’ll put you on a team where a slot is available. All teams’ requests will be held until Monday March 10th. After which time, if the fee is not received the organizers reserve the right to shuffle the teams to fill up slots with paying participants.

It is RECOMMENDED that if you want to organize a team, one member should send in a check for ALL participants. ALL MONEY should be in by Friday March 21st or you run the risk of being bumped from the event altogether. This is a co-ed event and we encourage female racers to join.

The Fee is $40 per entrant. There will be a $10 discount for Lotus Corp members. Each entrant will get two stints of approximately 7-8 minutes of track time at this event. Good sportsmanship is HIGHLY encouraged. Let’s have fun and leave the “Red Mist” at home.

We have reserved a block of rooms at our usual hotel at the greatly reduced rate of $79 for those drivers, volunteers, and other attendees that plan to drive up on Sunday. Reservations must be made by April 18th, and cancellations must be made no later than noon on May 16th. Please reference Lotus Car Club when reserving your room. 

As usual, we will also be conducting tech inspections at the hotel Sunday evening.

May 23, 24, 25 - Champagne British Car Festival - Champaign, Illinois.  Welcome to the Champagne State Fair.  Step back in time to the glories of a 50's State Fair and come to the Big City of Champaign with your prized cars.   This will be the 17th year for this great event. 

Friday night is hospitality night.  Saturday's activities include a cruise, a leisurely drive, a poker run, and a mid-day picnic lunch at the lake.  Lots of optional afternoon activities are available  Saturday evening will be a mini cruise to Famous Dave's Restaurant and either a funkana or a cruise to the drive in movie.  Sunday morning will be a cruise to breakfast, and then the car show itself.

August 1 - 4 - LOG 28.  Lotus LTD Lotus Owners Gathering.  Indianapolis, Indiana.  In addition to all of the usual LOG activities, there will be a tour of the Walker Racing Team headquarters.  LOG accommodations will be at the Indianapolis Hilton.  The concours and photo shoot will be at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Included will be a parade lap around the famed 2.5 mile oval and a photo op at the Yard of Bricks and Victory Circle.  The autocross will be held at the Bush Stadium parking lot and the track day event will be at Putnam park.  Other details, including a full schedule of the weekend's activities has been posted on the CHILL website here.

August 4-8, 2008 - North American Triumph Challenge.  The team in Southeast Michigan has been working hard to put together this year’s event for the Vintage Triumph Register. The North American Triumph Challenge will be held August 4-8, 2008 in Ypsilanti , Michigan . Ypsilanti is located about 30 miles west of downtown Detroit and just minutes east of Ann Arbor .   As in years past, this year’s event will sponsor an Autocross, TSD Rallye, Fun or Gimmick Rallye, Funkana and a Concours d'Elegance car show.   Special events include a Triumph Spitfire rebuild in 48 hours, Spinal Tappets reunion and farewell concert, and a keynote address by author/columnist B.S.
